Les Menuires
Les Menuires is the perfect resort if you want to have the access to the 3 Valleys, the largest ski area in the world, without having to pay 3 Valley-prices! At 1815m it is still easily ski in/ski out and being lareg and wide, is one of the sunniest areas in the region.
Although beginner skiers and boarders will have plenty to keep them occupied in Les Menuires with long wide sweeping blues and reds, we recommend the more advanced among you to upgrade your lift-pass to give you access to the full 600km of slopes found across the 3 Valleys, encompassing the resorts of Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens and every kind of terrain you could wish for. There are powder-covered glaciers, wide open mogul fields to push your knees to the limit and a brand new snow park with loads of kickers, rails and even a huge air-bag to try your most extreme tricks on. Although a haven for sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers, and with a quieter feel, Les Menuires is well-tailored to families and groups of skiers who wish to spend their time sur la neige.
However, should you feel like going wild a few nights a week, do not be perturbed, as Val Thorens is a short taxi ride away, where there are bars, pubs and clubs a-plenty! It is usually better to book a taxi in advance (approx €48 for an 8 seater) for the 15 minute journey. There is a handy bus service between resorts and an excellent service running through the resort of Les Menuires itself (going till around 11pm).
