Valmorel
This is another of France’s best kept secrets. This resort is often overlooked by British holiday-makers as it’s yet to make it on the map over here, but it’s a hidden gem and it’s popularity is fast-growing as more and more lifts are added.
Valmorel is renowned for being an ideal family resort and offers great slopes for the first-time and intermediate skiers. Beginners are very well catered for with entire ski areas dedicated to them for hassle free learning. There are long, luscious tree-runs, with amazing views of the valley below and wide well-kept pistes. Though too quickly overlooked, Valmorel does also offer great opportunities for the more experienced rider, with a number hardcore black mogul runs and a vast expanse of too-often-untouched off-piste for days’ worth of guaranteed fresh tracks after a snowfall. Mark my words this is one to watch – try Valmorel out before everyone catches on!
It is quieter on the bars and après ski side of things, but there are plenty of great restaurants and food shops, so if you are looking for a more chilled atmosphere where you can relax with friends then Valmorel is a good spot for you.
The resort itself is idyllic, purpose-built and convenient. The village is arranged into a number of smaller interconnected hamlets. The accommodation we offer is nearby the centre, so all of the resort’s shops, bars and restaurant are close by.
