Val Thorens is one of our most popular resorts. It’s perfect for groups of any size and for skiers and boarders of every level. Furthermore at 2300m it is the highest resort in Europe which means excellent snow is guaranteed from November until May.
Part of it popularity is because Val Thorens is the highest part of the famous Espace 3 Valleys, the largest linked ski area in the world; with 600kms of pistes and 183 lifts linking up the resorts of Meribel, Courchevel and Les Menuires, the 3 Valleys gives you access to every kind of slope you could want. Just make sure you catch the last lifts back over to your valley at the end of the day, as it’s a long bus journey if you don’t!
Val Thorens itself is based in a natural bowl, with lots of sweeping blue and green runs through resort which makes it ideal for beginners. At the same time the sheer expanse of the 3 Valleys means even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders will be kept well entertained. There is even a brand new snow park with loads of kickers, rails and even a huge air-bag for you to test out your most extreme tricks.
You can’t fault the resort itself either – it was built in the 1960s with function in mind, so there’s easy access to all of the slopes. There are lots of great places for après ski, as well as a multitude bars and restaurants for later on which are all conveniently no more than 5 minutes walk from each other or from your accommodation.
We have a range of accommodation from 2 star self-catered studios to 4 star chalets with saunas and Jacuzzis on site, and you can ski straight down to them all.
